LUBBOCK, TEXAS USA ISA Sport, a 50-year old international testing institute announces the opening of the first USA synthetic turf test house of its kind. The core of ISA Sports' focus is to respond to the growing demand in North America to better evaluate synthetic turf surfaces by utilizing the FIFA Quality Concept.
ISA Sport Field Director, Mr. Rusty Abell comments, "Thousands of field owners have selected synthetic turf due to the high performance and durability that can be offered. We see the emphasis on safety and quality continuing to grow. By conducting a wide range of FIFA field testing and obtaining a FIFA Certification for the installation, a client is better assured of having an artificial grass surface that meets their expectations."
The test methods employed by ISA Sport are based upon the internationally recognized natural grass benchmarks established by FIFA, the world's governing body of international soccer. ISA Sport is an accredited testing institute for the FIFA Quality Concept which emphasizes a comprehensive set of durability tests plus a wide range of player-to-surface and ball-to-surface interaction tests.
The FIFA Quality Concept addresses the following:
1 Multi-year wear and abrasion simulation
2 Joint and seam strength
3 UV/ Water/ Heat Resistance
4 Player shock absorption when running and falling
5 Vertical deformation and foot stability
6 Rotational resistance
7 Slip resistance and foot lock
8 Ball roll and bounce
9 Angled ball rebound
In addition to the FIFA Quality Concept, ISA Sport also maintains certificates for testing with FIH, IAAF, ITF, IRB and ISSS.
ISA Sport's strategy is to work as a team with design consultants and existing industry participants to deliver a field performance testing solution to field owners. It also fully supports the Synthetic Turf Council (STC) and recognizes the continual efforts of the STC in also promoting better performance guidelines and industry practices.
