Different industries dealing with a variety of application challenges need engineered parts that will offer them solutions that are not only effective but also reliable. While in the market there are a number of providers of these parts, the companies need to select the provider that will offer them custom made parts that fit their specific situations. This is what Servometer offers in their products, such as the flexible shaft couplings, electroforming and miniature bellows.

When it comes to miniature metal bellows, Servometer offers users flexibility, motion, protection and balance for their systems that require precise accuracy. These miniature metal bellows are used for different applications including flexible connectors, temperature and pressure sensors, volume compensators and other applications which need dependability, quality and durability. The process used by Servometer ensures that the products are not only cost effective but exceeding the standards in the marketplace.

Companies that use applications for precision motor control should select flexible shaft couplings from Servometer as this provides them mechanical strength in motion which ensures accurate positioning. These products are designed to accommodate the misalignment of the shaft and at the same time transmit an accurate rotational position. Users can select different products such as the standard bellows couplings, the Servo-Torque couplings among others, and have them customized to fit their various applications.

Servometer produces parts via the electroforming process, which involves building thin metal layers onto precision machined mandrel. The company has refined its technique to produce intricate parts with thin walls, deep crevices and unusual shapes alongside other features of design. It uses modern test instruments together with in-house design engineering experience of over 120 years and chemists who are highly skilled to perform the electroforming process.

The process starts with a piece of aluminum bar stock, followed by the machining of the internal geometry of the bellows or electroform. The resulting component is known as a mandrel. The next process is the addition of gold, silver, copper, nickel or their combinations before they are electrodeposited on the mandrel to a precise wall thickness. After the post-plate inspection, the plated mandrel is then trimmed to expose the aluminum and achieve the desired configuration specifications. The final step involves the dissolution of the aluminum mandrel in a caustic solution to leave behind a completed bellow or electroform. At this stage, special coatings or finishes can be applied. The assembly is leak tested and tested for spring rate as required.
