New Wood R4 V1.36 kernel is released on August 23th. It is the latest software for R4 3DS and R4i 3DS card. Wood R4 is a most famous software in flashcard world, it offers very good compatibility, and update very fast. The before version Wood R4 V1.35 was released on August 16th, and only 1 week later, the new wood R4 V1.36 come out. Beyond before update, there are 2 new games fixed in V1.36 kernel. It also improved the core and WiFi functions. By loading the latest Wood R4 V1.36 kernel to your R4 3DS card, it will run better in the Nintendo 3DS console.

There are 5 kinds of flashcard, which can run Wood R4 kernel currently. (there are 3 different files, though they are all called Wood R4)
R4 DS card made by r4ds.com / R4ds.me.
R4i Gold and R4i 3DS card from r4ids.cn.
R4idsn and R4idsn 3DS card from r4idsn.com.
Wood R4 V1.36 update content
Core update:
- lameboy option added to globalsettings.ini.
compatibility update:
- 'dragon quest monsters - joker 2 (usa)' fixed.
- 'paws & claws - pampered pets 2' fixed.
wifi-update:
- access points with hidden ssid support added.
- many minor changes/improvements.
- cmp cheats database support added.
How to install Wood R4 Kernel?
For different flashcard, the files inside the patch is not same. But the install method are same:
1. Download the latest Wood R4 V1.36 kernel to the compueter.
2. Unzip the patch, you can get some files:
* For R4 DS card, it contains 2 files: “__rpg” and “_DS_MENU” .
* For R4i Gold and R4i 3DS Gold card, it contains: “_rpg”, “_DS_MENU” and “WOODR4.NDS” .
* For R4idsn and R4idsn 3DS card, it contains: “_rpg” and “_DSMENU” .
3. Copy all these files to the root directory of the TF card.
4. Also, download some game or media files, and copy them to the TF card root directory.
Insert R4 3DS card with TF card to the Nintendo 3DS console, then you can start to play.
