Fluidity and Intuition of the Moment by Larouche at Agora Gallery

Larouche is a contemporary artist whose inspirations are numerous – the incredible atmosphere of the natural world, and its multiple shapes and colors, fleeting moments of experience, sailboats (a symbol of liberty), old rustic barns, winter scenes, flowers.
New York, NY, United States of America (prbd.net) 29/09/2011
NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature Canadian artist, Larouche in Beyond Borders: an Exhibition of Fine Art from Canada. The exhibition is scheduled to run from October 7, 2011 through October 28, 2011 (opening reception: Thursday, October 13, 2011).

About the Artist
An ephemeral elegance lingers in the dappled glow of Larouche’s lyrical paintings, filling the depth of her subtle overlays of color and form as she creates her impressions of flowers and sailboats at sea. Working exclusively in watercolors, this artist developed an intuitive mastery of the medium’s improvisational dance while studying under Quebecois artist Jacques Hébert and Americans Frank Webb, Barbara Nechis and Christopher Schink. Larouche is inspired by the free and ever-changing beauty of nature, infusing her paintings with motion, light, and pure joy. The result is a delight to behold, as the gentle, subtle images fill the viewer’s vision and touch the audience’s heart.

Born in Jonquière, in the Saguenay area of Quebec, Larouche has received widespread exposure and acclaim for her works throughout Canada, and currently teaches at the Collège François-Delaplace. She is an active force in Sherbrooke’s art community in the province and is a passionate musician and teacher, with a Master’s degree in flute and two degrees in pedagogy.
