Speaking to The Times Of India, Nehwal said of her recent success, "I never thought I could win this title in my present situation. But it's a fantastic feeling, just too good to describe. I did not think about winning because my knee was not good and I had so many other obligations after the Olympic medal.
"Maybe that is the reason, I was fresh and I feel wonderful. I thank the fans here and at home for keeping me focused throughout."
Yonex French Open live streaming begins at 0755 on Wednesday morning with a host of other top female stars set to grace our screens such as Wang Shixian, Tine Baun and Juliane Schenk to name but a few.
In the men's singles event meanwhile, Indonesia's Simon Santoso is top seeded and he'll vie with the likes of number two seed Sho Sasaki of Japan and third seed Peter Gade from Denmark for top honours.
