Picnic to Pleasure Club

Pre-primary section of Nursery, Junior KG & Senior KG enjoyed a wonderful outing to “Pleasure Club” at Ghuma. On arrival, children were greeted with snacks and milk. Then they gleefully enjoyed rides on the train and the camel-cart. This was followed with a delicious lunch. A very nice “Puppet Show” was organized for these tiny tots and they simply loved watching it. They rested for a while and then danced vigorously to the tunes played by a D.J. While leaving they were given fruit juice and wafers. It was a fun and frolic day for all children.

Zee Kahaani Workshop

A Zee Kahaani Express Workshop was held in Udgam School For Children for std. 7th on 12th Jan.2015 The facilitator began the workshop by telling them a story which also had a power-point presentation. It was a story of a king, a dwarf and other people of the kingdom. She narrated the story keeping in mind the characters (for a fat person her voice was hoarse and for the dwarf it was shrill), their status (the king and the courtiers voices), the sounds of a cart, etc. Students enjoyed the session. After this, she gave them the strategy to write a story – based on an acronym she had made. It was as follows:

M Mood, Genre
A Action, Happening
S Setting
T Time
I I, Me, Characters

Ex Expression
P Practice
R Remember
E Eye contact (When one tells a story)
Ss Speech, Voice, Modulation, Loud, Clear(When one tells a story)

A worksheet was then handed over to the teachers. It was to be given to the students later on. It had two stories with gaps. If one fills up those gaps, a story would be ready.

Sports Day in Middle School

Middle Section celebrated Sports Day on 17th January, 2015. The event began with lighting of the torch. All the participants marched in unison to the beat of drums. There were events like 50 mts. Race, baton relay, slow cycling, kabaddi and cricket. Students performed various yoga asanas in a perfectly synchronized way. They also performed few advance asanas which were appreciated by the parents. Girls of Classes 7th and 8th performed Lezims. Their body movements and formations spoke of the immense hard work and practice. But it was the gymnastics and pyramid performed by boys which left the audience spell bound. Kabaddi match amongst boys of Class 8 and cricket match among girls of Class 8 were the highlights of the day. The day ended with prize distribution ceremony.

Take time to show you are grateful

Udgam School imparts quality education and by education we mean all round development that is not restricted to academics alone. It also includes the human values. Students of Class X distributed pillows, cushions, hand made flowers, chocolates, greeting cards, coasters, hand crafted bags to the helpers (Ayahs and peons) of the morning section as a token of appreciation. A student on behalf of her classmates spoke in Gujarati about the invaluable assistance rendered by the Ayahs and Peons (service staff). It was an emotional moment for all when one of the Ayahs expressed her gratitude to the students.
