Pray for Dr Goodluck JonathanFeatured PR

The Goodluck Jonathan Global Campaign Team (GJGCT) realises that President Goodluck Jonathan needs prayers because he faces unparalleled challenges during the forthcoming 2011 presidential elections and beyond. He has shown us that with God anything is possible, but he must fight to make his destiny as the elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria happens in the forthcoming elections.

The chairman of Goodluck Jonathan Global Campaign Team (GJGCT), Mr Peter Eledan, said whenever the head of the government of a nation is good the people of the country will prosper, and there is peace and unity. “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked rule, the people mourn”.
He further stressed in his public statement that "Prayer has been a satisfying way for many Nigerians of diverse faiths to express their most cherished values and needs, and we have thus deemed it fitting and proper to publicly identify the significance of prayer across the nation as all Nigerians prepares for the next elections"

As citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it is our collective responsibility to pray for our government and leaders in authority with the following prayer points:

- That God will protect the entire staff of INEC as they conduct the general election.
- That God will protect President Goodluck Jonathan and his family.
- That he would be elected to continue the good work he has started by transforming and leading the entire country to a greater height.
- That God will give President Goodluck Jonathan, the wisdom to lead us with humility, the courage to lead us with integrity to do what is right and just, and the compassion to lead us with generosity.
- Pray for the formation of a government that will be transparent, honest and ensure delivery of services to the people of Nigeria.
- That God will fill the elected leaders with the love of truth and righteousness, and make them ever-mindful of their calling to serve the people faithfully and fearlessly.
- That there will be unity, tolerance, love and mutual respect among all Nigerians regardless of political differences.
- That God will bless our land and protect all leaders in authority.
- That there will be no loss of life and violence in the forthcoming 2011 elections.
