Focusing on the importance of Third Party Logistics Services, Mr. A. K. Agarwal, Director Marketing, DRS Group, said “India spends about 13.0 percent of its total Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on logistics & the Indian 3PL market, estimated at about US $ 890.3 billion in 2005, is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 21.9 percent to reach US $ 3,556.7 million in 2012 & to increase its market share in the 3PL sector, DRS Group is making huge investment in upgrading their infrastructure & network “.
Further to strengthen, its network and reach, DRS Group has recently acquired DRL ( Dilip Road Lines) a major player in Express Parcel sector, In this financial year DRS Group is also investing initially Rs. 150 Crore in developing their own large warehouses of each more than 15 Lac Sq.Ft, mainly at six places namely Bhiwandi, Chennai, Gurgoan, Mumbai, Hyderabad.
Mr. A.K.Agarwal, Director – Marketing of DRS stated “Due to huge diversity in geographic conditions, consumer habits and infrastructure conditions across the country, make it a major challenges for Indian industries to efficiently manage their supply chain to reach all parts of the country, Additionally, India’s retail network is ver vast, estimated at about 3.3 million outlets. The highest priority of all industries in India is to achieve a consistent presence of their products across maximum possible section of this process managed efficiently by a professional logistics service provider, like DRS Logistics”.
Sharing the vision of DRS Group, Mr. A.K. Agarwal Said “ DRS Gross vision is to become a leader in providing a complete supply chain management solutions under one umbrella to its valued customers and to set the benchmark for the 3PL industries” solutions.
He also stated that the company is set towards the target of Rs. 10,000/- Crore Company by 2018.
