Finding a Replacement for Chemcrest
The US and Canadian molding and millwork business is humming with the realization that Chemcrest Architectural Products is not longer selling polyurethane crown molding and trim to the US and Canada after over 30 years in the business. Contractors, developers and home owners are now looking for a replacement for their longer crown moldings and decorative trim, often turning to US based Fypon Mouldings as the answer.

And so it now goes for Chemcrest of Manitoba Canada, another of the Canadian manufacturers of Polyurethane Millwork with deep roots and many customers through out the United States. “When the Canadian Dollar reached par with the United States the available customer base began to look pretty grim,” says Rick. “And when we started looking at some of the other economic indicators, both US and Canadian, we realized that things were just going to get worse”. And so, Rick discontinued his manufacturing business in order to sell decorative millwork, fiberglass columns and other related trim online through his website www.crown-molding.com.
“We approached Chemcrest Mouldings previously and they were not willing to supply us with their molding products, we were not able to get the distribution or the pricing that we required from Spectis Mouldings, so instead of Chemcrest and Spectis and as others have found, attempts to contact Focal Point proved impossible. Fortunately, Fypon Mouldings and Millwork, one of Americas oldest and most well known polyurethane molding manufacturers had everything we needed with response times that put all of the others to shame.”
