Karlsruhe – If you are one of the 70 million people who have visited Expo 2010 in Shanghai this year, chances are you'll have seen the WibuKey software protection solution from Wibu-Systems in action. WibuKey is used with Dataton WATCHOUT™ multi-display presentation software from Dataton, Sweden, which is installed in many of the most popular pavilions at Expo. The proven USB-hardware WibuBox is plugged into all WATCHOUT-equipped computers, and has run successully for more than 170 days to date.
In total, more than 30 of the Expo’s pavilions – aimed at gathering and presenting world culture – make use of WATCHOUT software for spectacular multiscreen presentations. Pavilions with WATCHOUT systems include the host China pavilion, theme pavilions such as Pavilion of Future and Urbanian Pavilion, and numerous national pavilions such as Spain, UAE and Brazil. And wherever the WATCHOUT system is used, WibuKey is there too, running silently behind the scenes.
"Expo 2010 is the largest-ever deployment of WATCHOUT in a single location, with many prestigious projects and customers involved,” explains Michael Engström, Director of Sales, Dataton. “Having worked with Wibu ever since the launch of WATCHOUT, we knew that we were in good hands when it came to protecting our software, and we have certainly been proved right."
Oliver Winzenried, C.E.O. and founder of Wibu-Systems, explains: “We are very proud that the WATCHOUT software is running in so many pavilions – reliably protected by WibuKey at this huge event. I have visited the Expo in Shanghai myself together with some members of our Wibu team. So viewing the different pavilions we always had in mind that our WibuBoxes make sure that Dataton's software is used correctly licensed, showing great presentations for all visitors.”
