A new website has been launched to assist small local businesses and tradesmen to get their companies onto Google Maps so they can be found by more customers. The website, www.redcliffemarketinglabs.com.au, shares information and resources related to small business online marketing.
“Our goal with this website is to give small business owners and solo operators in the Redcliffe region a hand to get their business noticed on the web. The website provides articles and videos to show owners what they need to do. The focus is on action steps that they can take today.” said the owner of the website. “Everyday more and more customers are going online to find information, products and services in their local area, so if small businesses aren’t looking at some form of online marketing then they are missing out on those enquiries. That’s why we created this resource for them.”
“The flip side is that the more local businesses that are able to get listed on Google Maps and in local search results the better it is for Redcliffe peninsula customers. It opens up more choices and lets them know about businesses close to home rather than having to travel to other areas. It helps the local economy.”
The owner of the site also pointed out that a group of Redcliffe small business owners are getting together monthly to share knowledge, tips and tricks and their own experience with other business owners. “The group includes a number of internet marketers and web designers who give freely of their experience – plumbers, electricians, bakery store owners, childcare operators, pet store owners are just some examples of the people we are trying to reach and help. The majority of local businesses have not yet claimed their free Google business listing.”
He mentioned that claiming their Google business listing should be the first thing that businesses owners do when looking for ways to get more traffic from online sources. Businesses that have claimed their listing and filled it out well are much more likely to appear in the top search results. With Yellow Pages losing its relevance to consumers, businesses need to start thinking about their online presence.
