Celebrating its first year of nearly being in business, Tuppence Magazine has put together its top 10 album reviews of 2010. The top ten is a beautiful compendium of all that was brilliant, musically speaking, in 2010.

Celebrating its first year of nearly being in business, Tuppence Magazine has put together its top 10 album reviews of 2010. The top ten is a beautiful compendium of all that was brilliant, musically speaking, in 2010. While there was a lot of chaff flying around in the final year of the decade, there was also a lot to talk about; with the demise of Oasis, the return of The Libertines and Blur and the sheer selling might of Take That.
However, none of this managed to affect the outcome of Tuppence Magazine's Album reviews in 2010. Although, all the talk seems to point to the possibility of the first three having an impact on the reviews in 2011. The release of Liam Gallagher’s Noelless Beady Eye debut album will probably be the first big test of 2011.
The Top 10 albums of 2010, meanwhile, is dominated by a solid band of class, which includes Hot Chip’s One Life Stand at number 9, Sleigh Bells’ Treats in at number 7 and the new-found hit of No Age’s Everything In Between at number 4.
The top 3 may be controversial to some, but in terms of quality tunes it had to be Butterfly House by The Coral at number 3 propped up by the sheer spreading might of Arcade Fire’s The Suburbs. And that could only ever leave the number 1 spot for an album that broke their own mold; MGMT’s Congratulations. In a daring, do whatever we want to do production they created something with lasting brilliance and for that they have been named number 1 in the Tuppence Magazine top 10 albums of 2010.
Fortunately, it’s not just the blurry eyed fuzzy faces at TMHQ that write the reviews for the website, it’s also backed up by reviews sent in by its readers. However, it could always do with more reviews, so to help promote readers to send in their album reviews, Tuppence Magazine has also established a writer of the month competition.
