"No matter how cute your dog might be, sooner or later, it will begin biting on you and on something else. There's a reason for it...Puppies explore their own world through their mouths." said Lee. "People also explore their own world by touching and holding items, however canines explore theirs with their mouths. It is especially true of young dogs since they are still learning new sights and smells in their surroundings."

"Dog biting is considered as one of the most serious negative behaviors and it should never be tolerated and should be controlled under all circumstances." Lee said. "It could leave bite marks on people's legs, arms and hands and it should be taken care of before it causes serious injuries."

According to Lee little dogs start to nip and owners should be able to recognize this so they can eliminate the negative characteristic. Dogs act this way as their form of communication and they snarl, growl, show their teeth and then they start biting.

"If the owner does not take steps to control and train the dog and make it more sociable, this could lead to aggression as it establishes itself as an alpha dog." Lee said.

Dog biting is triggered in many ways. Puppies feel neglected and felt biting is their way to attract attention. It starts biting when it feels irritated, either when it gets a hard embrace or been accidentally struck by an object or was hit by a child.

"At one point, the dog would also try his dominance on his surroundings by biting and it's important for the owner to establish himself and other household members as the masters of the house." Lee said. "The sooner this is done, which is the sooner the dog is introduced to the household, the less behavior problems the dog show. When the dog learns the pecking the order, he welcomes it and follow the owner's every command." One more effective method that the dog owner needs to do according to Lee is to turn away and ignore the puppy as soon as it starts to bite or starts to show some other negative behavior.
