Eng3 announces that it will ship its Activated Air device with the OxyArm? nasal diffuser. This gives the customer a second option, in addition to the standard nasal cannulas provided with the device. Activated Air is an innovative technology designed to improve cell metabolism including the uptake of oxygen. “It is only fitting that the air from our advanced technology is delivered through the OxyArm, a leading innovation in its own right” notes Eng3 CEO Hans Eng. OxyArm is a product of SouthMedic, an Ontario, Canada-based company.
As the name suggests, the OxyArm was developed to deliver oxygen to the body. Activated Air is often mistaken for concentrated oxygen because it can improve energy levels and you breathe it through a nasal tube. In reality, Eng3’s device is quite different; it is designed to help your cells utilize oxygen better, not to increase the amount of oxygen delivered to the body.
A number of benefits led to the decision to provide the OxyArm with every Eng3 device. It is worn like a headset and does not touch your face. Because it delivers the air through a diffuser instead of prongs going into the nose, it can be adjusted for people breathing through their nose or mouth. The tubing from the device connects to the rear of the arm and the arm can be positioned on the patient’s right or left side. This means Eng3’s device can be placed on either side of the person without the tube getting in the way.
Studies have shown that the OxyArm is as effective as a traditional nasal cannula, confirming that the user does not have to sacrifice performance for comfort. Since so many Eng3 customers use the Activated Air device daily and prefer the OxyArm, it makes sense for Eng3 to include the OxyArm with every device.
