March 11 2011, WSI understands that not one person in today’s age need to go hungry. Most significantly little children shouldn’t have to feel the distress of lack of nutrition. Motivated from the thoughts of Nelson Mandela, who said, ‘Overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity, it is an act of justice,’…… WSI registered forces with World Vision and established its Global outreach Program in 2004 to help make child poverty history.
Vice President of Marketing for WSI Elizabeth Monaghan said, “We take for granted through our very own selfishness, just how much we currently have. If we feel like a drink, we check out a pop machine, if we're feeling like some munchies, we open a cabinet. Only occasionally does the majority of us open that cabinet and find it bare. When we do, we proceed to the food store, and perhaps for an hour or two, do we feel our stomachs talking to us. It's difficult to imagine going days to weeks without suitable nourishment, “said Monaghan.
WSI is humbled to support the MCPH project by means of fundraisers, sports events, cultural activities and contributions. At the moment, there are 1 billion youngsters living below the standards set by the United Nations Convention in the Rights of Children. There are also a great number of villages left with no aid for their children. When Monaghan investigates these reports she speaks for the organization as she emphasizes that these results are the big motivation to strive and do more and reach out.
“We have always asserted WSI views itself a catalyst - working with a group of like minded men and women and enterprises who understand that suffering of children can be made of thing from the past”, stated Monaghan.
