The Commonwealth Business Council’s (CBC) 2011 Power Summit will begin tomorrow, March 1, 2011 at the Royal Commonwealth Society, London. The two day Summit will provide government and private sector representatives a platform to deliberate on the investment opportunities, growth and challenges in the energy sector. The Alliance for US India Business (AUSIB) has partnered with CBC for this Summit.
Speakers representing various countries and corporations across continents will be present at the 2011 Power Summit. Some of the speakers include Mr. Muhammad Enamul Huq MP (State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, People’s Republic of Bangladesh), Mr. Sushilkumar Shinde (Union Minister of Power, Government of India), Dr Jayatissa de Costa (Chairman, Public Utility Commission of Sri Lanka), Dr Eng Frank B Sebbowa (CEO, Electricity Regulatory Authority, Uganda) and Mr Joe Adir (CEO, Windsolare) among others.
The CBC Summit will give Governments of developing as well as developed countries, the opportunity to outline their future energy requirements and strategies to the representatives of international private sector solution providers, financiers and investors. It will also give the service providers and cutting-edge technology developers the opportunity to showcase their expertise. Delegates from across continents will participate in country specific presentations, technology focused sessions and expert panel discussions along with presentations from the Energy Ministers of different countries.
