Claflin University Students Visit SMS Varanasi
An academic delegation under Prof. Benjamin Yumol, Director MBA Programmes, Claflin University, South Carolina, USA along with their management students visited the prestigious management institute School of Management Sciences, Varanasi for further strengthening the Faculty and Student Exchange Programmes. It is important to mention that SMS has a bi-lateral academic agreement signed with Claflin University on 10th August 2009. The delegation is presently on the educational trip to India.
The delegates, on reaching the SMS Campus at Khushipur, were welcomed by the Director Prof. P. N. Jha, the Executive Secretary of SMS Society, Dr. M. P. Singh, the Registrar, Mr. Sanjay Gupta and the senior faculty members of SMS Varanasi. The delegation during their stay visited D.L.W. Varanasi for their Industrial visit and also learned and gained insights about the Banarasi Silk Saree and the Carpet Industry in and around the neighboring cities of Varanasi.
After having their campus tour Prof. Benjamin Yumol, Director, MBA Program, Claflin University in a session enlightened the students on different aspects of Leadership. The students from Claflin University interacted with the students and the faculty to get a real idea about the quality academic delivery system in SMS, Varanasi. They also attended the two academic sessions in which Dr. Sanjay Saxena, Reader, SMS gave a lecture on Unconscious Competence followed by a lecture on Business Ethics by Mr. Sandeep Singh, Reader SMS Varanasi.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. P. N. Jha, Director, SMS reiterated the commitment of the SMS fraternity to provide their students with academic exposures internationally and develop their business acumen and insights that add value to the students to serve the corporate better and give the country its future corporate citizens.
