Leather outfits, bondage, and rough sex may not be a turn-on for everyone. Yet despite its taboo status, kinky sexual activity is widespread and increasingly common, although discussing such things in a new romantic relationship can be difficult. Author James Amoureux intends to make it easier.
In his new book, “How To Start A Kinky Relationship,” (available at Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/How-Start-Kinky-Relationship-relationship/dp/0615458556/) Amoureux examines unconventional sexual practices from a variety of angles and offers guidelines for how to incorporate alternative sexuality into a couple’s romantic relationship. “I found it frustrating that people in the leather and S&M scenes had terms and norms for hooking up, but none of that makes its way into conventional relationships,” Amoureux says. “I wanted to give kinky folks and more vanilla people a way of spicing up their relationships. That’s what this book is about: relationships.”
Whereas other books focus on such things as bondage techniques, or address relationship elements while omitting sexual practices, Amoureux says his book “is a how-to manual for creating and maintaining relationships where kinky sex is a central component a couple’s erotic experience.” He adds, “I focus on self-awareness and communication with your partner. Without these things there’s not much of a relationship in the first place.”
