An Orange County California man soliciting large sums of monies from investors in Southern California and the Midwest is actually a two-time violent felon who is depicted in a video carrying out a near-fatal assault of an innocent victim at a Las Vegas casino.
Andrew Skylar Medal has raised money from wealthy investors in Southern California and the Midwest during the last three years while working at a Southern California company called VenturePharma. Medal, identified as a director and partner of VenturePharma, has also raised significant sums of money for two other companies, including Progenex Dairy Bioactives, and a so-called venture capital fund called Mercury Ventures.

Each of these companies is run by another convicted felon, Adam "Stuart" Zuckerman, who has pleaded guilty to a $20 million fraud.
Investors who gave large sums of monies to Medal and Zuckerman were never told that Medal is a violent felon currently on probation out of Nevada. Nearly fatal beating of a Virginia man caused authorities to categorize Medal as a high-supervision offender in 2006 in Nevada after attacking a Virginia man.
In the video, Medal is shown beating James Hechtkopf, 32, to the brink of death at the Studio 54 Nightclub. Once Hechtkopf was beaten unconscious, Medal viciously stomped on the man's head and then did a celebratory dance.
Hechtkopf said he was celebrating his wedding anniversary at the time of the assault. He suffered severe residual brain trauma and spent the next nine months in a brain rehabilitation facility. Medal attacked Hechtkopf unprovoked, it remains completely unclear as to why.
"He attacked me from behind," According to Mr. Hechtkopf's recollections of that night he was sitting with his back to the room, Andrew Medal king hit him from behind, without warning and completely unprovoked; Hechtkopf went down and Medal continued the assault by kicking and stomping on his head leaving him permanently impaired. Shocked witnesses watched as Andrew Medal performed a celebratory jig over his victim's unconscious body, the performance was captured by the security camera.
As a consequence of the attack, Hechtkopf's life has been left in ruins. He is no longer able to write with the same skill, and his memory has suffered significantly. The aftermath of the assault has caused great strain in his family life as well.
Mr. Medal who was allegedly on probation at the time of the attack was sentenced to five years probation for the conviction. Hechtkopf while living in a veterans' rehabilitation center, has only received several hundred dollars and from Andrew Medal in court awarded damages, although he was ordered to pay $180,000.
Apparently Andrew Medal still has a 90-month prison sentence hanging over his head, though while on probation he has been positively linked to participation in multiple sham business entities controlled by convicted felon Adam Stuart Zuckerman.

There are previous felony convictions for Andrew Medal which include but not necessarily limited to conspiracy, possession of a firearm; these are just for Orange County, California.
Adam Zuckerman is a repeat offender, he is a convicted felon who is still at large on supervised release pending formal sentencing for his participation in a $20 million plus bank fraud and sting operation executed by the FBI and code-named "Operation Lease Fleece". For the most part, Venturepharma and Progenex investors are either in the dark or denial about Andrew Medal's history of violence and fraudulent business and financial credentials. Zuckerman's inner circle have deliberately withheld or obfuscated their accumulating rap-sheets from public scrutiny and defrauded investors. Other members of the conspiracy and ongoing business rorts include Aaron Thomas, of Kansas City Missouri, (Ernest) Luke Adams of Kanosh UT, Cameron Verdi of Orange County California, Ryan Page, of Ladera Ranch California and another convicted criminal Kirk Mcmahon who was complicit in Zuckerman's financial crimes and is also awaiting sentencing.
