Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET 2011) is the exam conducted by Anna University, Chennai on behalf of Government of Tamil Nadu for pursuing MBA and MCA from the institutes under the University. TANCET 2011 MBA entrance exam will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011 from 10 am to 12 noon.

Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET 2011) is the exam conducted by Anna University, Chennai on behalf of Government of Tamil Nadu for pursuing MBA and MCA from the institutes under the University. TANCET 2011 MBA entrance exam will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011 from 10 am to 12 noon.

Paper Pattern
The duration of the paper is two hours and consists of 100 multiple choice questions. There are four choices per question. The marking scheme of TANCET is one mark for each correct answer and for each wrong answer, there is 1/5 negative marking. There are five sections in the TANCET 2011 MBA paper which are Business Situation, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Data Sufficiency and English Usage. Each section has 20 questions.
Past Paper Analysis
Following are the highlights and the analysis from the TANCET 2010 exam.
Business Situation
This section had two Case Studies with 10 questions. The topics were ‘Product grading dilemma faced by a company’ and ‘Increase businessman’s profit’. Though the questions were not straight forward, but content wise, the case studies were easy.
Reading Comprehension
In the Reading Comprehension section, there were two passages with 10 questions. The topics of the passages were ‘Water Pollution’ and ‘Consumer Behaviour’. The questions were straight forward with only three and four questions on Inference. Others were direct data base questions.
Quantitative Ability
In the Quantitative Ability section, there were five questions on Numbers, nine on Arithmetic, six on Geometry and one on Modern Math. This section had direct application based questions.
Data Sufficiency
This was the toughest among all sections. There were six questions on numbers, six questions on Arithmetic, seven questions on Geometry and one question on Modern Mathematics.
English Usage
The difficulty level of this section was moderate to difficult. The questions were mainly based on sentence correction. The questions were based on finding the error in the sentence given which is broken into four parts.
