Toronto, Canada – GAO Research Inc. (www.GAOResearch.com) is offering its V.44 data compression software which consists of both an encoder and decoder. It is ideal for packet switched networks such as the Internet.
This V.44 data compression software is the newest data compression software ratified by the ITU-T and is improvement on the existing V.42bis standard. It uses a new string-matching algorithm for a higher degree of data compression and thus increases upload and download speeds. Depending on the data type, the compression ratios of 6:1 are attainable with V.44.
This V.44 data compression software belongs to GAO’s family of Soft Modems. Other products in the family are V.34 Modem Software which has a maximum bit rate of 33.6 kbps, and V.32 bis/V.32 Modem Software which is designed to process data in 10 ms intervals.
The family also includes V.92 Modem Software, V.42bis Data Compression Software and V.42 Error Correction Protocol. The line of products provides the most comprehensive and unique suite of modem, fax, telephony, speech software, VoIP, FoIP, fax relay and fax/modem/voice relay software for embedded applications for DSP and microprocessors.
