With the automotive aftermarket gaining in prominence and popularity across the markets of the GCC, Epoc Messe Frankfurt, organiser of the region’s foremost trade and networking event, Au-tomechanika Middle East 2011, has reported a corresponding increase for the 2011 edtiion of the trade fair as well as an 11% increase in the number of local exhibitors.
“The automotive aftermarket is a high-growth industry here in the markets of the Middle East,” said Mr. Ahmed Pauwels, Chief Executive Officer of Epoc Messe Frankfurt. “While traditionally the market has been dominated by manufacturers and suppliers from abroad, considering that this is primarily an import-driven industry, we have seen an increase in local exhibitors this year, with the number of UAE exhibitors up by 11% over 2010. This growth is primarily due to the growing realisation among exhibitors about the benefits of leveraging the reach of Automecha-nika Middle East to access regional markets,” he added.
Top manufacturers and distributors consider Automeckanika Middle East as a key networking platform that eases access to the entire Middle East region – a fact that is confirmed by their presence in large numbers at the annual event, which has specific sections dedicated to tyres & tubes, workshop equipment, batteries, parts & systems, repair & maintence and accessories & tuning industries.
Local exhibitor Arwani Trading Company is using the opportunity to showcase its newly launched cutting and welding equipment manufactured by Italian company Helvi. A car body specialist from the company will be demonstrating the simplicity of using the machines and the different technologies and machines used for various applications in welding and cutting on cars.
Mr. Hani Arwani, Managing Director, Arwani Trading, said: “We are delighted to be able to dem-onstrate our new welding products to the region through Automechanika Middle East. We will set up a demonstration area at our booth whereby visitors can see the products at work and what it is they can do first hand. We are looking forward to using the event to spread awareness on their world class welding products as well as the safety requirements for using them.”
New local company Auto Glass Middle East LLC will be launched through the exhibition. This local company will serve as the first mobile windscreen repair, replacement and distribution ser-vice in Dubai.
According to Mr. Behzad Farsian, Development Director for Auto Glass Middle East LLC: “We have done a lot of market research and believe the time is right to bring this company with these services to Dubai. For us, Automechanika Middle East was the obvious platform in which to launch as it means in three short days we can reach out to the key decision makers in the in-dustry and raise the profile of our new company.”
Now in its ninth year, Automechanika Middle East 2011 will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from June 7th to 9th. This year’s edition is set to be larger and more comprehensive than the past, with more exhibition space being taken up and leading fig-ures in the regional aftermarket expected to attend.
