San Francisco, CA - Thursday, June 02, 2011 -- VirtoSoftware has released a new version of Virto List Form Extender - a Microsoft SharePoint web part for customizing SharePoint list forms.
VirtoSoftware presents a new version of Virto List Form Extender for Microsoft SharePoint. The web part is designed to quickly customize SharePoint list forms for creating, editing and viewing list items. The new version provides SharePoint users with additional tools and features for convenient form customization.
All SharePoint lists and libraries have assigned default forms that are displayed when a user wants to add, edit or view a list item. The forms sometimes contain limited amount of information about the list or the item, poor usability or it simply just doesn’t look nice enough. With Virto List Form Extender by VirtoSoftware, you can easily design your own list forms and use them instead of the default forms.
Virto List Form Extender 3.0 contains a wide range of new features and tools. The new version allows users to complete the following three tasks: (1) users can create custom SharePoint forms with additional tabs and blocks for better displaying of information. Various options allow for automatically hiding empty tabs, flexible security settings (a particular block or tab can be available for certain users only), and many more;(2) using regular expressions, you can design your own validator, such as email or credit card number, and add it to any text field in a form; (3) Virto List Form Extender 3.0 provides tools for customizing form text fields. For example, you can easily set security rules and enable/disable autofill option.
The web part is based on Ajax and Java Script technologies which guarantee quick access to a list of form data without the need to reload. Note that Virto List Form Extender does not replace the default list forms that are stored on your SharePoint server, but rather extends their features and functionality on the client side, keeping the option to restore the default forms available at any time.
