Kerri walked away from the phone, dazed by what she had just heard. She then remembered the strange feeling she had when DJ and Cal drove off that first day of their trip. It was happening again. Was it a premonition I had or what? The family left for the Evans' house for dinner. It was hard to be cheerful over seeing Cathy for the first time since November, with the heavy concern for Karyn.
After giving Cathy a quick hug and a kiss on the cheek, Kerri turned to her parents and said, "We need to tell you of a grave incident that has happened in Mexico."
"Oh, dear," said Sharon, with a ghastly look on her face. "Has something happened to DJ?"
"No, Mother, DJ is just fine. But, Karyn, Paul Greene's daughter, has been kidnapped."
"Kidnapped?"
"Yes, kidnapped."
"When?"
"This afternoon. We aren't sure of all the details, but while Karyn and some other kids were taking a walk on the road in front of the parsonage, a car stopped and a man jumped out and grabbed her."

About the Author:
Author and freelance writer, Janet Nicolet lives in Florida. She has four children, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She intends to continue Kerri’s Journey in a series of books about this courageous character. Her first book, The Vintage Years, A Fulfilling Life after Divorce, was published in 2007.
