Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm (www.GAOComm.com) has announced the release of its rugged visual fault locator which is an ideal tool to measure both single-mode and multi-mode fiber. It is widely used for fiber optic network maintenance in telecommunications and CATV systems.
This rugged visual fault locator, model A0870002, features a compact size, a universal connector and accurate measurement. It detects breaks and micro-bends even through jacketed fibers. This VFL easily performs end-to-end fiber identification. It provides a measurement range of up to 5 km. The visual fault locator is also able to examine all kinds of patch cords, ribbons or bunched pigtails in the installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks. It offers wavelengths from 640 to 660 nm and optical connectors including FC and Universal 2.5 mm adaptors. Its spectral width is less than 5 nm. In addition, it boasts an operating time of 30 hours with a single battery charge.
