PPI has dominated headlines as of late and an article in the North Wales Weekly New shows just how much people are actually reading the news.
The article in the North Wales Weekly PPI News reveals how savvy Brits are when it comes to payment protection insurance.
The published editorial explains that in a study by YouGov, 80% of people in both Scotland and Wales knew and understood what PPI was compared to only 73% of people from London in England.
The research was carried out to demonstrate how financially know-how residents are in the UK. Called “What is PPI”, the survey involved over 2000 adults and shows that only 16% of Welsh and 20% of Scottish residents do not know what payment protection insurance is.
The findings follow recent reports that millions of consumers across the UK have been mis-sold ppi policies and are now claiming back compensation pay-outs with the PPI Claims Company.
Londoners came at the bottom of the league with 27% of those surveyed having no idea what PPI is but even though the Welsh and Scottish know more than the English, over 90% of people from the two countries still believe they haven't taken out PPI.
