WAPT is a load, stress and performance testing tool for web sites and software applications with web interface. Its main advantage is the ability to create realistic tests very quickly with help of a regular browser. The product does not require any programming background, so it can be used by quite a wide range of specialists from QA engineers to managers and business analysts.
The Pro version of WAPT combines technical affordability with high performance and scalability required by industry standards. The product can use multiple servers to generate the desired test load, emulating tens of thousands concurrent users. Such load is sufficient to perform the overall stress testing of a popular internet portal. The distributed product architecture makes it a cloud-ready solution, meaning that it can manage tests executed with help of remotely located load agents.
What´s New:
Since web developers try to utilize all the power of the latest browser versions, they have to adjust the site content accordingly. This often leads to significant differences in web site behavior depending on the client browser. The most important case is a web site specifically adjusted for mobile access. One of the newly introduced features in the version 2.5 is the ability to record and replay user sessions executed in any external browser, even a one running on a different system or a mobile device. This means that, for example, you can configure your Android browser to connect to your web site using WAPT Pro and click through your pages on the device to let the load testing tool record the session. When running the test, WAPT Pro will emulate thousand copies of this recorded session. It will no longer need the mobile device for this purpose, but will perform its exact emulation.
This new release also comes with a new extension module capable of testing web applications implemented in Microsoft Silverlight. This module can parse and rebuild binary messages encapsulated in the HTTP traffic between the client and server part of such applications. As a result, WAPT Pro creates data-driven tests for Silverlight applications, making each users session use its own unique data.
The third important feature is the ability to export full test statistics to an external database. This possibility is a must-have for those who test their web applications on the regular basis and need to fully integrate a load testing tool in the development process. While WAPT Pro offers its own set of tools for the test data visualization and analysis, including descriptive graphs, reports and logs, it is beneficial for historical purposes to export the results of multiple tests to a separate database.
