Wrexham - Teddy bears, who take their name from American President Theodore ‘Teddy’ Roosevelt, have always been extremely popular gifts. A survey by the hotel chain Travelodge, who questioned over 6000 hotel guests, found that adults thought sleeping with a teddy was “comforting and calming”. The survey even went on to report that over 25% of men took their teddies away with them on business because it reminded them of home.
Jodie Horton, Operations Manager at Adopt A Teddy Bear, agrees “We have customers from all walks of life both male and female buying teddy bears for themselves and for family and friends”. She continued “They make fantastic gifts and the perfect companion especially if you are away from home a lot”.
The most popular bear on the website is a traditional looking teddy known as Oliver. His popularity may be because he reminds owners of the teddy bears from their youth. With his lovely expressive face and soft and cuddly fur he looks set to be the sites favourite for some time to come.

The Travelodge survey also found out that the average age of a teddy bear was 27 years old, so they are bound to have a long and happy life together.
