With the deregulation of the market and the arrival of direct on-rail competition between the UK and the continent European rail travel is having exciting times these days. Just as new Policy of liberalization in other markets such as telecoms and energy, rail travel industry is set to undergo major change with travelers as the main beneficiaries.
Increase in competition will drive a dynamic period of innovations, inventions and will deliver better choice for customers with new and exciting services, destinations, offers and routes. This will increase and encourage travelers to opt for high-speed rail for short-haul travel.
St Pancreas international station of London will be very different and will see many improvements in 10 year’s time. Deregulation of the market offers exciting opportunity and giving platforms for new innovations to come into market. It have been preparing for the arrival for direct competitors and to grab new opportunities. Last year, a long-held ambition is realized and concluded the process of transforming partnership business to a single, unified corporate entity. This step has made travel business even stronger, more fleet of foot and ready to compete.
By 2015, Eurostar set a business target to increase the number of passengers connecting beyond our core routes to five million a year. Target is to make people to connect with rail routes and to switch to high-speed rail instead of car and plane. Core routes are London- Paris and London-Brussels currently. Eurostar has a number of partnership agreements with other train operating companies in the UK, beyond London. Eurostar is forgoing to these kinds of partnerships to make it easy to travel main destinations in Germany and Holland such as Cologne, Frankfurt and Amsterdam. In France, Eurostar is trying to increase the number of passengers heading to regional destinations in the south of France via Lille as well as Paris. It is working hard to execute all plans and to grab the opportunities.
