Halifax, England, February 17th, 2011-In its inaugural Personal finance Awards for 2011, Moneynet has chosen Halifax Reward Current account as their choice for ‘Best current Account (credit balance).
These awards are specifically assigned for personal finance providers as a mark of recognition whose services and products have stood above the rest during the past one year.
Andrew Hagger, one of their spokes person remarked, "It has been another extremely challenging year for banks, building societies and credit card companies but some have gone the extra mile to outperform their rivals with excellent deals for the consumer."
According to him this research was made by a team of experts, who had compiled data after a thorough analysis of all those products which had offered the most competitive rates, features and fees that promised its customers an ‘all around good deal’.
According to Mike Reigner, their Personal Current Accounts Director, "It is great to receive external recognition for our innovations and the work we are doing to help our customers make the most of their money. The Halifax Reward Current Account is the only current account in the UK to reward customers with GBP5 each month just for using it as their main current account and depositing at least GBP1, 000 into it each month." He further added that, “Endorsement from consumer champions is one of the most powerful and persuasive tools in promoting our great range of products."
The Cash ISA product of Halifax Reward Account entitled it for the Best Cash ISA provider award.
Halifax which is the trade name of Bank of Scotland is the largest provider of savings account and mortgages. Usually most of the banks or building societies follow the interest based procedure while maintaining accounts in banks, by paying their clients a fixed percentage of interests in their credit balances. But Halifax Reward Account has a different approach to it. For every 1000 pounds deposited by its client, it pays a flat rate of 5 pounds every month, irrespective of whether the client is in-credit or overdrawn.
So simply for using this account on an ongoing basis, the client is being paid 5 pounds a month. The client does not have to worry about his account or balance slipping below the minimum level as this 5 pound bonus is not a fixed tem special offer. So if you miss out on depositing 1000 pounds any month, you also miss out on the free money, but it can be easily resumed the next month by paying for it.
This account is most suited for people who pay at least 1000 pounds regularly every month in their account without using their overdraft regularly.
