IPL3 – the saga continues
IPL3 – the saga continues
For most of the cricket aficionados, the return of IPL to the country has added extra enthusiasm to their voracious appetite for quality cricket.

They hope to see – in person – a glimpse of their favorite cricketer(s) perform at the highest level and savor these moments. To someone like me who grew up watching Sunny Gavaskar’s straight drive, Vishwanath’s square cut, David Gower’s cover drive in late 1970’s (just to name a few), and then lived through Kapil’s devils winning the World Cup in 1983, Ravi Shastri’s Audi winning performance in 1985, before graduating to Azharuddin’s flicks, Kambli’s flair and Sachin’s all round flamboyance – the mad rush of T20 can be a little too hot to handle. But who cares about the purists these days – just look at some of the improvisations the youth brigade has brought to the game. “Dilscoop” of Dilshan is fast gaining currency, with Brendon McCallum bringing out a similar shot of his own recently. Reverse sweep is something you see in every match these days, with likes of Kevin Pieterson having taken this art to a different level altogether. All this has certainly added a new flavor to cricket – hopefully for the better. And talking about flavor, the latest social TV network, NyooTV (the flavor of the nation these days) would keep bringing you some high quality footage from IPL3 and IPL3 related events, so don’t forget to check the latest action here.
Even though it is too early in the IPL season 3 with each team having played only a couple of games each, it appears that some strong performers from IPL1 and IPL2 are lacking some bite this time round. Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings XI have lost both their matches, the “lady luck” of Shilpa Shetty and Preity Zinta respectively deserting their teams. Kolkata Knight Riders has come out swinging and looking better than before – who knows it is the new XXX energy drink which is working as the magic potion for them. (Please see the announcement about KKR finding new sponsor on NyooTV at http://www.nyootv.com/IPL-Shahrukh's-KKR-Finds-New-Sponsor/10764-0-16 ). Mumbai Indians have scored over 200 runs in both the games, the genius Sachin himself leading from the front and enjoying a rich vein of form. Over the next few days, I will be analyzing each team’s chances only on NyooTV so stay tuned.
