Raleigh, NC - August 31, 2011 -– In response to the rapidly-changing needs of its healthcare clients, Computer Service Partners (CSP) has recently added a new position to the company’s list of job titles: Healthcare Security Officer.
"We are proud to announce that we now have a Security Officer at CSP that understands all the latest HIPAA and HITECH Act compliance regulations," said Bill Riddick, CSP president.
"CSP has a long history of helping medical practices understand and navigate the changing IT landscape," Riddick said. "But now, with HITECH regulations requiring healthcare providers to demonstrate 'Meaningful Use' of an Electronic Healthcare Records system by 2015, things are changing even faster."
"Now, any new CSP Managed Services client in the healthcare industry will receive a Network Assessment that includes a review of their technology infrastructure to ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines. This assessment will identify vulnerabilities in IT policies and processes that could jeopardize an organization’s HIPAA Privacy and Security rules."
"Based on our experience, practices often do not realize they have a problem with privacy and security rules until they receive a complaint from an angry patient," Riddick said.
