CONCORD, NC – September 1, 2011 – Thousands of ACN Independent Business Owners are packing their suitcases and checking their flight plans as they prepare to head to Charlotte. More than 16,000 of ACN’s Independent Business Owners (IBOs) from every corner of the globe will fill Time Warner Cable Arena September 9-11, 2011, for one of the company’s quarterly training events. Once there, IBOs will receive extensive training from the company’s Co-Founders, top-producing leaders and motivational speakers, as well as enjoy everything Charlotte has to offer.
ACN provides individuals with a business opportunity to offer communications and essential services to residential and business customers. The company was recently ranked #20 on Direct Selling News’ list of top 100 direct selling companies in the world.
“The Charlotte hospitality community is very excited about the return of ACN and their 16,000+ business owners to our area for their training event,” Mike Butts Executive Director of Visit Charlotte said. “Having a local corporation such as ACN show their loyalty and commitment to Charlotte by bringing their business to their own backyard really helps to keep our local economy healthy. We have developed a very valuable partnership with ACN INC, and we are dedicated to insure they will return here regularly.”
The upcoming September event marks the fourth time in the last three years ACN INC has hosted one of its quarterly events in Charlotte. In addition to the training event and visiting Charlotte’s attractions, IBOs have the chance to tour ACN’s World Headquarters in Concord. ACN INC established its headquarters in Concord, NC, in 2009.
"This is truly a homecoming for our Independent Business Owners," ACN President and Co-Founder Greg Provenzano said. "Not only will they benefit from the phenomenal training and announcements we have planned, but they will get the chance to visit our backyard and see the outstanding impact they have had in our community. We want to continue to do great things for Charlotte and having events in our hometown helps us with that goal."
Beyond filling hotels and patronizing local businesses, ACN Independent Business Owners will leave a more lasting mark on the Charlotte community during the event weekend. At every International Training Event, ACN collects contributions from thousands of generous IBOs and employees for Ronald McDonald House Charities. The company then matches the donations dollar for dollar. At its last Charlotte Event in February 2011, more than $102,000 was raised.
“It is so wonderful to be considered a part of ACN’s Family,” Mona Johnson-Gibson, Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte, said. “Each time we go to ACN’s events we are welcomed with open arms. It is their constant dedication that the families who use the Ronald McDonald House are in need of.”
Through its work with ACN Global Reach Charities, the company has committed to donate $2 million to the Ronald McDonald House in Charlotte. The house, which opened in May 2011, is serving families of children being treated at Levine Children's Hospital and Presbyterian Healthcare's Hemby Children's Hospital.
