Clean Up the World Campaign
Community initiatives and environmental awareness go hand in hand at Holiday Inn Dubai - Al Barsha, the main sponsor of the Dubai Municipality’s Clean Up the World campaign which was unveiled on October 23 at Al Seef, Dubai Creek.According to Gilles Nicolas, Director of Operations the initiative is an important aspect of Holiday Inn Dubai - Al Barsha’s contribution to the community, “We want to highlight to the importance of living in a clean environment. Having a clean, healthy environment depends on us as a community. The Clean Up the World is a great initiative to get everyone involved and aware of their responsibility towards the environment.” The Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha Team including management and staff volunteered a few hours of their time to join the campaign along with Dubai Municipality to clean up the Sufour Beach. Armed with bin bags, the volunteers enthusiastically charged to remove litter and debris.“It is great to see so many people working together. Not only is the event great for the UAE community but it is also fantastic for the Holiday Inn Dubai –Al Barsha team. It is rewarding to see the benefits of everyone’s hard work,” said Gilles An estimated 35 million volunteers take part in Clean Up the World globally, taking responsibility for the environment. The campaign theme - Our Place… Our Planet… Our Responsibility - highlights how local action taken by every community and volunteer partaking in the activity has a global impact. Activities to improve the environment could include planting trees, cleaning parks or beaches, conserving water or undertaking environmental awareness or education initiatives.“Projects like Clean Up the World really raise the spirit of the community. It gives us all something to be proud of,” said Gilles
