Paper Log Maker announced this week the launch of its new website, http://www.paperlogmaker.org.uk Based out of London in the United Kingdom, the site provides users with information about the useful gadgets that transform old newspapers or scrap paper into simple logs of fuel, and offers links to the latest log making deals.
Every year, people around the word consume millions of tons of paper. With this method of micro recycling, the amount of paper made from new pulp will be reduced. Since most paper is manufactured from trees, water and chemicals, the amount of raw materials used in recycled paper is much lower. This creates a lesser impact on the environment.
There are a variety of different designs of paper log making gadgets, but the basic principle relies on using a simple gadget to compress bits of paper firmly together so that you can create a compressed log of paper fuel.
Excess papers are soaked so that they become softer and congeal to one another, they are then pushed into the log making gadget and compacted with use of the levers or dowels. Once the paper logs are extracted they can be put aside in a garage or green house to completely dry, at which point they are ready to be used as fuel in your wood burner or fireplace. This creates a twofold benefit over sticking to traditional wood fuel only.
For starters this is a very money-efficient way of obtaining extra fuel for your fireplace. It uses a resource you've already bought and likely have lying around the home in bundles, such as newspapers or old paper envelopes. This can replace or at least reduce the amount of money you spend on traditional wood fuel or coal, making the papers you've bought into a more efficient investment.
Secondly, many homes simply throw their old papers out, and these papers have to be disposed of, or chemically bleached for reuse later, this creates problems of storage, infrastructure, and the other associated matters that come with mass recycling. By instead stockpiling the papers into compressed logs, you help reduce your input into this system while saving a little cash.
It must be stated that paper logs burn fairly quickly compared to a traditional log. Therefore, they should probably only be considered as supplements to traditional wooden logs or coal.
Paper Log Maker provides web site visitors with information about recycling paper into useful logs of fuel.
