Over 523 nominations have been received from the crème-de-la-crème of the regional watches, jewellery and writing instruments industry, for the Seventh Edition of the Middle East Premier Awards according to the organisers. The Middle East Premier Awards for Watches, Jewellery & Pens 2011 are today considered a barometer for the finest creations in the region’s premium watch, fine jewellery and elite writing accessories industry.
Arabian Watches & Jewellery will, once again, conduct the Seventh Edition of the Middle East Premier Watches, Jewellery & Pens Awards to be presented alongside the popular Jewellery Arabia 2011, to be staged in the Kingdom of Bahrain from Tuesday, November 22 to 26. Jewellery Arabia is the largest, long-running and most prestigious of the industry exhibitions in the Middle East. This year’s edition is expected to be even bigger with additional space allocated at the exhibition venue at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.
German premium car manufacturer Audi, who is world-renowned for designing and producing exquisitely elegant cars that stand out as technical and design masterpieces, have signed on as lead sponsor for the 2011 edition of the Awards. The Awards’ mission of recognizing excellence is in line with Audi’s ongoing tradition of excellence and sustainability represented by their motto ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’.
Nominations for the Awards’ secure, on-line selection process in each of the pre-determined, well-defined and independent categories for watches, jewellery & pens have been flowing in rapidly. The response has been enthusiastic and to date 523 nominations have been received from some of the finest international brands that include Cartier, Harry Winston, Vacheron Constantin, Van Cleef & Arpels, Hublot, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Piaget, Chopard, Panerai, IWC, to name only some, thereby adding their weight to the legitimacy and credibility of the system. This figure represents a 20% increase over last year’s 2010 figures.
The results of the Premier Awards will be determined and rigorously vetted by an independent, well respected, 16-member Awards Committee especially empanelled and appointed by MPP-ME. The committee comprises watch, jewellery & pen collectors, connoisseurs and aficionados with no direct commercial ties to the industry.
