Little Falls, MN, November 16, 2011: Self esteem activities for kids are found in a variety of programs at school, community groups and churches. Establishing confidence and a high self esteem within a child is a practice that takes years to cultivate. When a child has self esteem and confidence they are better able to interact with their peers and also better equipped to handle life’s challenges, whatever they may be.

One of the best ways to help build a child’s self confidence is through journaling. Journal Buddies has created journals for boys and girls ages 7 to 14. When used in conjunction with self esteem activities, these journals can help children develop a stronger sense of self and learn to be proud of who they are despite the bullying world around them.

Journals offer children a place to express their thoughts and feelings from the day. When a child is feeling alone or sad, it may be difficult for them to talk with their parents. This is a natural response that many children have because they do not want to trouble their parents with their youthful problems. Through journaling a child can feel comfortable and safe discussing their problems. From body image issues to bullying to feeling like they do not fit in, there is a world of children’s issues that need to be discussed to help them cope.

In the Journal Buddies diary there are four sections in each of the 30 journal entries. All of these sections help build self esteem in the journal owner. The journaler and their buddy both write what they like, love or enjoy about the other in the first two sections of the book. The there is a section for a focus word of the day, such as confidence or kindness. Finally, the fourth section of the journal is where buddies express on blank and lined pages what they feel and think about their journal buddy.

Girl groups, boy organizations and the like exist to address the myriad of social problems kids face. Journal Buddies is designed to help children learn more about themselves, to understand the many challenges facing them in their lives and to find ways to better cope with them. As a result, their confidence will soar. Journal Buddies are ideal for school, religious and community groups that target building relationships and personal growth in children.
