"Even with prices frozen in Thailand, the cost of a holiday has increased for a British holiday maker by nearly 12 %."
December 2009 the Baht was at 55 Baht to the pound but with the banking crisis in the UK and the uncertainty of a possible British hung parliament the pound has continued to plummet through out 2010.
Even with prices frozen in Thailand, the cost of a holiday has increased for a British holiday maker by nearly 12 %.
Holiday Villas Pattaya has reduced the prices of the property it offers to holiday makers so that the cost of the daily rental is the same in pound sterling.
David Smith Said “We are doing our bit to encourage tourists to visit Pattaya and Jomtien, we have a holiday villa that last December was priced at 4500 Baht or ₤81 per Day, but with the exchange rate that would now cost ₤93. Over a standard two week holiday that would cost an extra ₤168. For this reason we have reduced the price to 3500 Baht - ₤73 per day. The real savings will be made by people that book a holiday villa early, and lock in at the 3500 baht price, if then the pound strengthens to 55 or 60 Baht to the pound the cost could be only ₤58 per day.”
