The problem is, unscrupulous companies are selling helmets that are made to look like Authentic GENTEX helmets, but are made from inferior, “knockoff” parts. These fake GENTEX helmets sometimes even have salvaged or used GENTEX parts, adding to the consumer confusion. Some bootleggers even send them out in what look like authentic GENTEX boxes. Sadly, while consumers may think they are getting a real, GENTEX helmet, they are actually getting a fake, inferior, knock-off “GENTEX” instead.
