Schiller Park, IL, January 5, 2012 – Mobile Mark newest Multiband Antenna for mobile data communications now contains three MIMO WiFi elements and one GPS element, all in one antenna!
The SMW Series Multiband Surface-Mount Antennas provide simultaneous operations on a variety of bands within one antenna. This antenna is perfect for mobile data communications covering traditional GPS tracking and location along with the new MIMO WiFi technology.
The latest addition, the SMW-410 offers four separate cable feeds. Three of the cables can be connected to a MIMO WiFi modem and the fourth cable can be connected to a GPS unit.
The SMW Series receives high marks in the industry as a dependable way of combining multiple applications. Driven by the fact many users are finding it difficult to juggle the number of per-vehicle installation, Mobile Mark SMW Series antennas offer a solution which provides a lower total cost by reducing the number of installation and by reducing the downtime for those installations.
These Multiband Antennas offer tremendous flexibility for Mobile Data Communications. According to Ken Lukowski, VP Sales, “We have already introduced several stand-alone MIMO WiFi antennas; this Multiband solution was developed for people who asked us to add a GPS element. For example, this antenna has been installed on public transit buses. GPS registers the location and the MIMO WiFi elements communicate route information via a WiFi hotspot network.”
This antenna was designed for vehicle mounting, such as transit, but other applications are possible. Michael Berry, Mobile Mark President, cited some innovative uses for this antenna. “Although this antenna is typically used for mobile data communications, the SMW-410 can also be useful for temporary set-ups such as transportable Digital Signage. The three-element MIMO WiFi antenna provides high data through put and the GPS element allows the owner to monitor the exact whereabouts of the Digital Sign as it is moved from location to location.”
The SMW antennas are enclosed in a weather-proof radome, supplied with all mounting hardware and sealing gasket. They can be mounted to any vehicle, cargo container or trailer. These antennas offer the ultimate in flexibility for any combination of mobile data communications.
