"
Oklahoma City, Okla. - According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), about 350 adolescents under the age of five drown each and every year in outdoor pools while as many as 5,000 more are hospitalized by reason of drowning-correlated incidents. Sadly, in Oklahoma on it's own, near 20 perish each year in swimming linked accidents.
Pool Barrier of Oklahoma today announced it is giving a complimentary online guide titled "Pool Safety Tips for Oklahoma Families" on its web page. The brochure includes information, statistics and guidelines pertaining to backyard pool safety. Concerned home owners may get a hold of the free pamphlet by going to http://poolbarrierofoklahoma.com and clicking on the "Free Pamphlet" button at the bottom of the webpage.
Marty Holland, president of Pool Barrier of Oklahoma, said the firm decided to release the booklet right away with summer seasonn coming soon.
"The calendar months of May, June and July are considered the peak season for drowning accidents through the entire United states," said Holland. "We wanted to get this information and facts out to the public as quickly as possible so parents would be thinking about pool safety as they get their private pools ready for the Oklahoma summer time."
A number of the tips included in the report include things like making certain there is always close supervision at any time young boys and girls are near a pool, using fencing around home private pools with securing gates and having doorway alarms on outer doors so parents can assertain when their children play outside.
Holland said getting a pool safety containment system that can not be crawled underneath, crawled through or climbed is important for parents with younger children.
"The fact is three out of four drownings of young children occur while the boy or girl is out of a mother or father's eyesight for just five minutes," said Holland. "This is exactly why it is highly recommended to ensure you have the swimming pool completely blocked where little children won't be able to get any where near it if they happen to sneak outdoors without their parent's knowledge."
