The new version 2.2 of the bandwidth monitoring program helps monitoring network’s bandwidth and traffic usage by network computers. It counts traffic inside LAN and the Internet traffic as well and helps using enterprise resources efficiently.
10-Strike Software has announced 10-Strike Bandwidth Monitor 2.2, a powerful traffic usage and network bandwidth monitoring software. 10-Strike Bandwidth Monitor The program collects the inbound and outbound network traffic usage statistics on network computers, switches, and other network devices. The program is designed to help an administrator finding out which computer utilizes the most of the network bandwidth and monitoring the transmission speeds. The administrator can view the amount of ingoing and outgoing traffic utilized by each networked computer in the real time. This can help him to identify a guilty employee, who uses the company recourses for personal affairs, watches online videos, etc. He can also find computers infected by a virus or a trojan malware which generates a lot of parasite network traffic. It can be hard to find such the infected workstations by other means. With the packet monitoring feature, the program is able to generate diagrams and reports with a top-traffic list of hosts your computers are exchanging with.
10-Strike Bandwidth Monitor’s monitoring engine is released as a service application, thus it can be installed on a server. It constantly collects the statistics on the inbound and outbound traffic on network devices, which passes through network interfaces on computers and switches, and displays the dynamic of the transfer speed changes in the real-time on graphic charts. 10-Strike Bandwidth Monitor supports a few methods of gathering the bandwidth usage data: via SNMP, via WMI, and via remote agents for Windows machines, which should be installed on remote computers. The SNMP protocol can be used to monitor the network bandwidth usage on computers as well as on switches and other active network hardware that does not support WMI. The flexibility of the program allows deploying it in heterogeneous networks and monitoring a wide spread of networking devices.
The program offers various features for monitoring bandwidth and traffic, sending notifications and executing particular actions when a failure occurs or an alert arises (the traffic usage limit is reached, network interface is down, and so on). When a notification event occurs, the program can automatically shut down a remote computer, run an external application, restart a service, display a message on the screen, or play a sound alarm. The administrator can configure the program for sending e-mail notifications or SMS messages to mobile phones.
The new release 2.2 offers new options for sending alerts via e-mail and SMS. New diagrams and reports were added to the program. SNMPv3 is now supported (a secured version of SNMP). The traffic statistics data can be exported to CSV files which can be imported to a database or Excel.
10-Strike Bandwidth Monitor 2.2 runs under Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/7
