A group of Redcliffe and surrounding area business owners will be meeting up again shortly to learn about and share ideas relating to promoting their businesses online.
On Wed 15th 2012 the group will have their 13th meet up and the topic will be QR Codes and Mobile Phone Marketing. Available spaces have almost filled up showing the popularity of this topic.
The Redcliffe Small Business Web Marketing Group was established just over 12 months ago and has grown to 76 business owners coming from as far away as Ipswich and Mt Glorious. Member experience ranges from self confessed technophobes to web developers and professional marketers.
A number of economic, social and technology trends are converging to create a perfect storm for businesses that make the most of their online presence to connect with customers and those that build an online community around their brand.
Its these trends and also importantly the chance to network with likeminded locals that has seen the group keep growing. Past presentations have covered video marketing, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, online reputation management, local search engine optimisation, blogging for business and productivity tools and tips.
Upcoming sessions include a copywriting workshop, DIY Search Engine Optimisation session, introduction to email marketing and online press release submission.
Of interest to other local organisations is that the group uses the Meetup.com platform to organise, schedule and communicate with members. This has worked well and reduces much of the normal admin work that goes into running a small community.
