Gulf Atlantic Industrial Equipment today announced the company has hired Mike Andrews as their new representative for North and South Carolina. Gulf Atlantic, regarded as one of Southeast's leading suppliers of industrial equipment, serves concrete and aggregate material handling customers in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, North and South Carolina, the Caribbean, and Australia.
Mike Andrews while representing Gulf Atlantic in North and South Carolina is not a newcomer to the concrete industry. In his former life, he owned his own ready mix concrete company, Winyah Concrete and Block. From 1973 to 2000 Mr. Andrews worked as president, CEO and chairman of the board at Winyah Concrete & Block Co. Inc., which was a family owned business when he joined the company right out of college. When Mr. Andrews joined Winyah Concrete, they had one plant and eight trucks with about $100,000 in sales. When he sold the company it had five plants and sixty-five trucks with sales of 22 million dollars.
In addition to being a well-respected and highly knowledgeable businessman he's spent the last ten years as an operations manager and consultant. And in his new position as sales representative for Gulf Atlantic Equipment, Mike is excited about his new position and he's ready to begin working to help the company continue its steady growth pattern by using his extensive knowledge in the concrete industry.
