Are you struggling with a tax bill from the IRS? Millions of Americans have had this problem and a new company, IRS Tax Relief, has been formed to provide advice for those seeking tax relief.
This new organization is headed by Michelle Strauss, an experienced tax attorney who has worked extensively with the IRS. "Our goal is to have a webpage that the average taxpayer can go to and find out how to work with a tax professional to get their tax problems solved" says Ms. Strauss. "We are not selling a specific service but offering a variety of options and suggestions for taxpayers to review before deciding how to proceed."
The current fiscal downturn has created a brand new group of people who have had to choose between home payments, medical costs and taxes. Those who have been unable to pay their taxes are finding themselves being dunned by the IRs, but they may be able to take advantage of a variety of tax reduction, and even tax elimination, programs. Many states have also aggressively been addressing the issue of back taxes and are working to help taxpayers set up payment plans that still allow them to live a comfortable lifestyle.
According to Ms. Strauss, one of the most common misperceptions about tax debts is that the IRS is automatically correct in its dealings and that you must pay what they have listed as your debt. Many times personal circumstances have arisen that have made it impossible for an individual to pay the taxes due, but the IRS is willing to work with the taxpayer to set up a payment structure that will allow for reasonable paymants until the debt is paid. Many times the IRS is willing to take a reduced amount if the taxpayer has shown good faith, is current with all of their returns and shows a financial shortfall. Ms. Strauss has negotiated numerous tax reductions that have saved her clients thousands of dollars.
IRS Tax Relief was formed in 2011 by Ms. Strauss as an informational clearinghouse for taxpayers to use to research different options for tax relief. Helpful links to the IRS as well as other tax authorities are available to the visitor and guidelines are listed to help the reader find tax authorities in their area. While the IRS has unlimited powers when it comes to tax collection, their mandate is to collect taxes that are owed, not to bankrupt families in an attempt to extract further revenue. Recent Congressional and Presidential actions have required the IRS to extend additional help to taxpayers in the form of waived penalties, reduced interest and more creative payment schedules. The constantly changing economic and political situations have created the need for a business like IRS Tax Relief. As more rules, mandates and policies are proposed and passed, the information needed to keep on top of tax issues can be overwhelming. IRS Tax Relief helps to focus on the parts of tax policy that will affect an individual's situation and help them find the right program and professional to work with.
