The majority of holidaymakers who go on vacation fear that they are missing out on the latest office happenings, according to a recent survey.
Findings by travel agent Sunshine.co.uk reveal that Brits are more worried about missing interesting gossip from back at the office, as opposed to any family outings.
The study, which included over 1500 adults in full-time jobs being surveyed, found that a massive 74% of travellers on holiday are apprehensive about getting behind on the office chinwag and only 23% said that they feared being absent on family outings or gossip.
As many as 81% said that they dreaded ignoring important work whilst away and it seems that for some staff they simply cannot leave it behind at the office door. A third confessed to doing some work on holiday and 24% even went to the extreme of calling the office to check up on things.
Furthermore, 18% admitted to liaising with their colleagues whilst on vacation via social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter; and a minor 3% were so worried about missing the office happenings that they asked their work friends not to have an office night out without them whilst they were away.
