A new research has found that small businesses are often overcharged for goods and services that they purchase. The survey that covered more than 1,000 small enterprises found that companies with less than 10 staff employed over 4.5 people in the UK. However, these companies were forced to pay almost 10 per cent more than large companies. And what's even more interesting, subscribers can either request for an expired deal to go live or request for a new deal that they would like to see offered. The Huddlebuy team then contacts its suppliers with the request, and if there is sufficient demand for the deal, the supplier accepts it.
The Huddlebuy platform is a win-win for suppliers and buyers alike. The money that is saved from conventional advertising is spent by offering them as discounts to buyers. Buyers, who would ideally pay more for products and services, can use the power of group buying to save on costs. "Ever since we started, we have help suppliers boost their revenue by more than 20 per cent. We've also helped small businesses save money on products that they would have to pay through their nose to buy," says the spokesperson for Huddlebuy.
Bulk discounting may be a recent trend, but it has certainly managed to garner interest among small firms that always find themselves on the wrong end of the price spectrum when sourcing products and services. Group buying sites such as Huddlebuy, Groupon etc. have aimed to empower them.
