Philadelphia, PA, March 29, 2012 — RES Software, the proven leader in dynamic desktop solutions, today announced a full-service distributor agreement with Ingram Micro, Inc. (NYSE: IM), the world’s largest technology distributor. The agreement grants Ingram Micro permission to officially license and distribute RES Software to solution providers across North America. Ingram Micro will help solution providers benefit from the workspace management and automation capabilities of the RES Software product portfolio. Together, RES Software and Ingram Micro will help RES business partners provide customers with technologies to manage their hybrid desktop infrastructures.
The distributor will also support the RES Software Service Provider (RSP) program to add value for managed service providers serving small and medium businesses. RSP allows qualified service providers to offer an improved Windows experience to their customers with RES Workspace Manager and RES Automation Manager in their hosted environments, and Ingram Micro will play an important role in expanding the program’s availability to more service providers.
The agreement with Ingram Micro takes immediate effect. Ingram Micro will be working with RES Software business partners to add value and ensure they have knowledge of the full RES Software product portfolio that they can offer to customers. The current rise in popularity of virtual and cloud delivery platforms and flexible employee work styles presents an opportunity for solution providers to offer organizations of all sizes solutions that will help centrally manage and automate the user experience across different devices and delivery technologies. Ingram Micro brings added expertise to RES Software business partners, as well as access to comprehensive services such as marketing, financing and training.
“The collaboration with Ingram Micro presents RES Software business partners with an exceptional level of support to best serve customers and provides great up-selling opportunities and margin potential to grow their businesses,” said Gene Bonacci, VP Channels and Strategic Alliances, RES Software. “Ingram Micro’s sole distributor status with Citrix in North America will allow for our joint-partners to leverage RES Software and Citrix solutions together in their customer’s environments more easily than ever before.”
Service providers interested in the RSP program offered through Ingram Micro can combine the benefits of RES Software technology with Citrix solutions through key integration available through the Citrix Service Provider (CSP) program.
“By working closely with RES Software to enable out-of-the-box integration of RES Workspace Manager with CloudPortal Services Manager, together we are enabling service providers to manage personalization for their customers’ user base as well as leverage context aware settings to restrict application and data access. These features are critical in achieving customer satisfaction, as well as efficient and secure operations,” Bill Burley, Vice President and General Manager of the Cloud App Delivery Group at Citrix.
“The agreement between RES Software and Ingram Micro expands our channel footprint in North America, adding value to the market and offering our business partners unprecedented levels of support,” said Jim Kirby, President, Americas of RES Software. “In 2011, RES Software achieved 100 percent year-over-year growth of new premiere partners, and we believe that our agreement with Ingram Micro will be a conduit to maintaining our momentum in North America.”
