For a healthy leaving, experts recommend up to 8 glasses of water on a daily basis. While not everyone may hit 8 glasses of water every day, the importance of drinking sufficient amounts of the precious commodity cannot be overemphasised.
Your employees need water at the office for regular drinking every time they are thirsty. Medical experts insist on provision of water and not alternative beverages or soft drinks such as soda, tea coffee etc. Thus, your office cooler will see to it that your members of staff access the right ‘dosage’ of water for a healthy functioning at the workplace.
Unlike food, water is so essential that a human could die if he lacked water for a few days. As employees work, they lose water through perspiration, urine, lungs etc. This makes it necessary to refill their water reserves on regular basis. Office water coolers make that possible through provision of cool drinking fountain water for employees in your organisation.
Some climatic or whether conditions may dictate the amount of water employees may need to take at the office on daily basis. Residents of tropical and hot climate regions should drink more water to compensate for bodily water loss. Also, some medical conditions may make it very essentials for some employees to have office water coolers at their disposal for easy access of the precious commodity as a therapeutic measure.
Drinking water helps enhance brain capabilities such as reasoning capacity, short memory, alertness etc. Thus, employees that drink clean water regularly are more productive and help enhance business growth.
Nature is kind to humanity and offers the most important things in life cheaply or free of charge. Thus, there can be no meaningful excuse for employers to fail to provide clean and safe drinking water for employees. Additionally, water offers immense benefits beside quenching thirst.
Taking advantage of your office water cooler
Some people find it difficult to drink water unless after a meal. Such people may experience dehydration and its symptoms such as headaches, dizziness etc. This can affect your productivity rate at the workplace and probably put your career on the line. However, you can take advantage of clean water available at the office and learn how to drink sufficient amounts of water.
Your first step involves avoiding taking alcohol, teas, coffee or soda as an alternative to water when you are thirsty at the office. Such drinks may dehydrate you further and compromise your health safety. Thus, make water your primary thirst quencher.
Secondly, increase your daily consumption of water. If your are used to drinking water only after you have had a meal, change the habit and drink it more often. If it is difficult to reach 8 glasses a day, set a daily goal towards that end and attempt to add one or two glasses to your daily uptake. Since this is not a miracle practice, you will need to be patient as you try to enhance your daily uptake of water.
Employers should do their research well to engage companies that supply clean water for the office water cooler. If you prefer bottled water, engage a company that can offer appropriate volumes for your business needs.
