Cornell University Veterinary Specialists (CUVS) launched premium and specialty vet care services with 24-hour emergency and critical care. CUVS is a renowned university-affiliated vet referral center located in Connecticut. The veterinary hospital is owned by Cornell University and works under the direction of the Dean of Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine.
"We strive to provide veterinary specialty services and emergency care, bringing together the best of specialty private practice with the best of academia for optimal animal care and content for pet owners. Our medical care integrates state of the art medical technology and scientific practice with collaborative, personalized, and efficient service," comments Dr. Susan Hackner, the Chief Medical Officer for the pet hospital.
CUVS provides a vast spectrum of specialized veterinary services; the hospital is an emergency and referral center only and does not offer general practice services. The emergency animal hospital is accessible 24 hours 365 days a year. The University-affiliated vet referral center employs seasoned and highly qualified veterinary specialists practicing cardiology, critical care, advanced imaging, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, and surgery, including minimally invasive or interventional treatments.
"We have a highly advanced oncology department that can treat every type of cancer in dogs and cats. Our oncology department handles cytology, CT scans, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, melanoma vaccines, and all the other steps required for the advanced treatment of cancer in dogs and cats. "Our hospital has access to resources like Cornell's Animal Health Diagnostic Center as an added benefit," adds a spokesperson for the animal hospital. CUVS utilizes state-of-the-art imaging technology during treatment such as digital radiographs, echocardiograms, ultrasound technology, CT scans, angiography, and fluoroscopy.
With regard to emergency care, CUVS stressed their well-trained staff and highly seasoned clinicians specializing in emergency and critical care. The Emergency Service unit and ICU are operated by board certified specialists specializing in critical care. "Not only do we guarantee after-hours service, but our emergency care is unparalleled with the help of medical experts."
